A Full-Circle Moment
I’ve had the privilege of documenting Cortney’s journey since her graduation at UCF, so being there for her wedding was a massive full-circle moment. Cortney and Parker are two of the kindest people I've worked with, and their day at The White Barn in Brooksville was the perfect reflection of who they are: sweet, fun, and unapologetically themselves.
The Details
The White Barn in Brooksville is a great backdrop, but it was the personal touches that made this one stand out. Cortney had these beautiful colorful flowers that just reflected who she was as a person. Parker is a little nerdy, but in the best way; his groomsmen had Star Wars LEGO pins on their suits, and he was rocking Spider-Man socks under his tux. It’s those small, intentional details that make a wedding day feel like a real reflection of the couple.
The Reality of the Day
Shooting in Florida always comes with its own set of challenges. It was hot, and it actually poured rain during dinner. My second shooter, Valentino, and I had to make a run for it just to get back to the action, but the energy never dipped. One of my favorite cinematic frames from the day was Valentino catching Cortney stepping into a classic '60s Thunderbird to head to the ceremony. It looked like a still from a vintage film.
The Next Chapter
I officially made the move to Hanover, PA last April, but when Cortney and Parker reached out, there was no way I was missing this one. Having been there for Cortney’s graduation, I made the trip back down to Florida specifically to document this next chapter of their story.
While this was a perfect "farewell" to the Sunshine State, it definitely won't be my last time traveling for a shoot. Whether it’s back in Florida or anywhere else across the country or world, I’m always down to hit the road for the right couple—travel fees just come with the territory when we're chasing the right story.
